Frequently Asked Questions

How do I order gift cards?
You can call me at 507-380-9113 or email me at
traci@signaturemassages.com. Include your telephone number in the email so I can call you back.

Must I be completely undressed to get a massage?
Most massage techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; HOWEVER, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer to wear. The practitioner will leave the room while you undress and relax onto the table. At all times, you will be covered by a clean sheet.

What part of my body will be massaged?
You and your massage therapist will discuss the desired outcome of your session, and at the that time, determine what areas of your body need attention. A typical full body massage session will include work on your back, arms, legs, feet hands, head, neck and shoulders. At no time will you be touched inappropriately or unprofessionally.

What will the massage feel like?
It depends on the techniques used. In general, Swedish massage uses broad flowing strokes, which help to calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscles. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension. By no means, shall a muscular knot be forced to relax by using extreme amounts of pressure or force. This is your massage - you are in charge!

What should I do during the massage session?
Make yourself comfortable! The practitioner will either gently move you, or direct your movements during the session. Many people close their eyes and completely relax, others relax via conversation. Feel free to ask questions or voice concerns.

How will I feel after the massage session?
Most people feel very relaxed!  Some experience immediate relief of long term aches and pains.  It is important to drink LOTS of water following a massage.  The number one job of the massage is to rid the body of toxins.  If you are sore following a massage, it means two things:  you didn't drink enough water and or, your body is in great need for a massage on a regular basis.  Just as if you went out and walked 10 miles once, it would be a good idea, but it will not have any lasting affects and will probably leave you sore!  Making positive changes in our body takes consistency!

How often should I have a massage?
On the average, to reap the building affects of massage therapy, a person should be in a routine of receiving a massage about every 3 to 5 weeks. Some people who are suffering from chronic problems may wish to have massage more often; possibly once a week or every two weeks.
